ABSTRACT

Learning achievement is one of the achievemnt that got by the students after doing learning activity, either for getting the expected result or not. The study result is influenced by two factors, which is internal factor and external factor. Internal factorwhich influences students learning achievement is learning style owned by the students. While, there is external factor, which is parenting pattern which has a role to develop the students? learning achievement in the family environment.

This research is used to explain: (1) The influence of parenting parents towards learning achievement social science course student class VIII MTs Ahmad Yani Jabung. (2) The influence of learning style towards learning achievement social science course student class VIII MTs Ahmad Yani Jabung. (3) The influence of parenting and learning style towards learning achievementsocial science course student class VIII MTs Ahmad Yani Jabung.

The approach in this research is qualitative with the kind of correlational research, which is this research is proposed to acknowledge there is or there isn?t relation between two variables and some variables. Instrument used in this research is questionnaire or survey which is delivered to the students to know the parenting pattern and learning style. Instrument used also is document which is used to know the students? learning achievemnt. Analysis used in this research is classic assumption test analysis, plural linear regression, determination coefficient, t test and f test.

The result of this research shows that (1) There is influence but not significant between parenting pattern towards learning achievement social science course student class VIII MTs Ahmad Yani Jabung as high as 0.014 or 10.4%. (2) There is influence but not significant between learning style towards learning achievement social science course student class VIII MTs Ahmad Yani Jabung as high as 0.029 or 2.9%. (3) There is influence but not significant from simultant testing result between free variable towards bounded variable, using F test resulted as high as 0.100 > 0.05. There is R square 0.067 or 6.7% and the rest 93.3% influenced by other factor which is explained in this research

ABSTRAK

Prestasi belajar merupakan suatu pencapaian yang diperoleh siswa setelah melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran, baik itu mendapatkan hasil yang diharapkan ataupun tidak. Prestasi belajar dipengaruhi oleh dua faktor, yaitu faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor internal yang mempengaruhi prestasi belajar siswa adalah gaya belajar yang dimiliki siswa. Selain itu, ada faktor eksternal, yaitu pola asuh orangtua yang berperan dalam mengembangkan prestasi belajar siswa dalam lingkungan keluarga.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan: (1) pengaruh pola asuh orangtua terhadap prestasi belajar mata pelajaran IPS siswa kelas VIII MTs Ahmad Yani Jabung.
