ABSTRACT

The development of singing doll learning media on the content of Civics lesson theme 1 subtheme 1 about the cultural diversity of my nation in order to help the process of teaching and learning of teachers so as to maximally improve student learning outcomes. In addition, the importance of the development of learning media on this material causes by students? difficulty in memorizing lessons because of  the lack of supporting media employed by teachers. Therefore, it tends to make the students less enthusiastic in following the learning process. Learning media developed is such a medium of three-dimensional learning on the content of Civics subject theme 1 subtheme 1 on the diversity of ethnic groups and culture grade IV elementary school or islamic elementary school.

The purpose of developing  this learning media are: (1) Producing three dimensional learning media in the form of dolls singing on the material of diversity of traditional clothes and regional songs for fourth grade MI (2) Measuring the feasibility level of learning media of singing puppets (3) Knowing the attractiveness and effectiveness of learning media puppet singing theme 1 subtema 1 about the cultural diversity of my nation in improving student learning outcomes.

The research method used in this research is Research and Development (R & D) with the type of development research using the Barg and Gall development model which has 10 steps in the design procedure and its development. This study adopted a 6 step procedures from Barg and Gall. Those are: (1) Research and data collection (2) Planning (3) Development of initial product draft (4) Field trials (5) product revision. The subjects of product assessment for the feasibility of instructional media are limited to 3 experts: media design experts, materials experts, and grade 4 THEMATIC learning experts, product trial targets are all students of class IV B of 22 students as experimental group and class IV A of 21 as a control group.

The results of this study are: 1) This medium is length, 100cm, height, 45cm, width 25cm, in the form of doll wearing traditional clothes and packed in box, under the box there are speakers to dive the regional songs, and this media comes with a remote to select the regional song to be played. 2) Meets valid criteria with expert material test result reaches 90% level, design expert reaches 95%, and learning expert reaches 95%. 3) The average value of pretest control class is 65, and posttest reached 80.
