ABSTRACT Learning language writing in primary school "nurul iman " batu which is part of learning the Arabic language, especially for beginners level still has many problems. The problem that arises is the difficulty students to write Arabic when not imitate or connect and write Arabic is the first, middle or end of the sentence. And the average student has not been able to write Arabic with true to lack of literacy and lack of exercise to get used to write Arabic and the ability and willingness of students to learn Arabic, especially in writing learning so that their attention to the Arabic language is also lacking. This is the problem of learning writing Arabic in the school. The purpose of this research is: (1) to know steps the using of strategy small group work in primary school "nurul iman" Batu, (2) effective use of the strategy small group work in primary school "nurul iman" Batu. To achieve purpose above, researcher use quantitative research approaches to the type of experimental research. The key instrument is selft researchers, and data collection techniques use are observation, interviews, questionnaires and test. The results showed that (1) the steps of learning the Arabic language in the chapter writing skill are as follows: to create a group, students learn in advance for 15 minutes before the process of application, then the application for 30 minutes, sharing the questions and answer sheets, the teacher put the pieces of the answer with distance roughly 10 meters from the group, group discussion, and then answer the questions and the group most rapid and precise, then the group was successful. (2) learning Arabic language in the chapter writing skill with using strategies of learning is effective for students. ABSTRAK Pembelajaran kitabah di madrasah ibtidaiyah ?nurul iman? batu yang merupakan bagian dari pembelajaran bahasa arab khususnya bagi tingkat pemula masih mengalami banyak permasalahan. Masalah yang timbul adalah siswa kesulitan untuk menulis arab bila tidak mencontoh atau menyambung dan menulis arab yang diawal, tengah ataupun akhir. Dan rata rata siswa belum mampu menulis arab dengan baik karena kurangnya pengenalan huruf dan kurangnya latihan untuk membiasakan diri menulis arab dan kemampuan dan kemauan siswa untuk belajar bahasa arab khususnya dalam belajar kitabah sehingga perhatian mereka terhadap bahasa arab juga kurang. Hal inilah yang menjadi persoalan pembelajaran kitabah dalam bahasa arab madrasah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) mengetahui langkah-langkah penggunaan strategi group work di madrasah ibtidaiyah ?nurul iman? batu, (2) efektifitas penggunaan strategi group work di madrasah ibtidaiyah ?nurul iman? batu. Untuk mencapai tujuan diatas, digunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen . Instrumen kunci adalah peneliti sendiri, dan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, kuisioner atau angket, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) langkah-langkah pembelajaran bahasa arab pada bab kitabah adalah sebagai berikut: membuat kelompok, siswa belajar terlebih dahulu selama 15 menit sebelum proses penerapan, kemudian penerapan selama 30 menit, membagikan soal dan lembar jawaban, guru meletakkan lembar jawabannya yang bejarak kira-kira 10meter dari kelompok, kelompok berdiskusi, kemudian menjawa} }
