ABSTRACT Islamic Boarding School of Miftahul Hikmah Al-Haruny Trowulan Mojokerto is one of the Islamic boarding schools emphasizing Quran and Arabic knowledge. Memorizing Quran, Linguistic knowledge taught at the school is nahwu used to learn more about contents of Quran. However, many students lack an understanding of the rule and composition of Arabic texts. The causing factor is that their nahwu skill cannot make them understanding both of their own nahwu skill and Arabic texts. Researcher tries to produce nahwu textbook using concept mapping into practice at Islamic Boarding School of Miftahul Hikmah Al-Haruny Trowulan Mojokerto. Problem formulations in this research are characteristic, expediency, and effectiveness of the nahwu textbook using concept mapping for students of Islamic Boarding School of Miftahul Hikmah Al-Haruny Trowulan Mojokerto; the goal is to describe the problem formulations. This field work uses research and development method, R&D based Borg and Gaal model. Research instruments are interview, questioner, and test. The study is applied to second grade students of islamic classes at Islamic Boarding School of Miftahul Hikmah Al-Haruny Trowulan Mojokerto year 2015-2016. Results of this research are that the textbook developed by researcher has its own characteristics and advantages not shared in other textbooks, which has indicator and exercises; test results of the textbook indicate that it is suitable and feasible to be implemented into the second grade students of islamic classes at Islamic Boarding School of Miftahul Hikmah Al-Haruny Trowulan Mojokerto, which scored 92.5% of media design, 71.1% from master of nahwu subject, 90% from nahwu teacher; that the results achieved in experimental class showed that median ?(M?_D) between pre-test and post-test was 12.917, deviation standard ?(SD?_D) was 1.990, error standard was 8.859, T value was 3.447, and the end result showed that T value was more high than T table value, which was 3.447 > 1.796. Hence, this showed significant improvement between pre-test and post-test and can be concluded that nahwu textbook using mapping concept is effective to be used for the second grade students of Islamic classes at Islamic Boarding School of Miftahul Hikmah Al-Haruny Trowulan Mojokerto ABSTRAK Pesantren Miftahul Hikmah Al-Haruny Trowulan Mojokerto adalah salah satu pesantren yang lebih mengedepankan ilmu al-Quran dan Bahasa Arab.
