Actually everyone will be able to write effectively if they are writing by using origami and practice them. There are some problems in the writing skill. They are the students have difficulties in arranging English sentence in procedure text and the students’ vocabulary is low. The students need some methods, media and special techniques in order to appeal their attention. And one way to increase their creativity is inviting the students to active in direct practice. To solve the students’ problem, origami can be used to teach them in motivating their writing. The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is a significant difference between the ability of the tenth grade students of MA Matholi’ul Huda Bugel Kedung Jepara in writing procedure text in academic year 2011/2012 before and after being taught by using origami. This is a quantitative research. This design of the research is the experimental method which uses pretest and posttest. The population is all of the tenth grade students of MA Matholi’ul Huda Bugel Jepara in the academic year 2011/ 2012 into seven classes. The sample is taken one class XD from the population by using cluster random sampling. The data were taken from the written test. After the students were given pretest, they were given the treatment for four meetings. The treatment based on the material that is taken from the syllabus of the school. Then, they were given posttest. The data were analyzed using the t-test method to find out whether there is a significant difference between the ability of the tenth grade students of MA Matholi’ul Huda Bugel Kedung Jepara in writing procedure text in academic year 2011/2012 before and after being taught by using origami. The result of the research, the mean of pretest is 59.7 and mean of posttest is 71.09. It can be concluded that the t-observation 10.5 in the level of significance ɑ = 0.05 and the degree of freedom (df) 43 which is gained from N-1, the t-table is 2.03. Thus, Ho is denied and Ha is confirmed. so, the hypothesis states, “ there is a significant difference between the ability of the tenth grade students of MA Matholi’ul Huda Bugel Kedung Jepara in writing procedure text in academic year 2011/2012 before and after being taught by using origami. Based on the result of the research above, hopefully the English teachers used origami as one of media in teaching learning process. The result of the treatment shows that the research is good category. Based on the mean, and Standard Deviation resulted from the treatment, the writer recommended to use origami media to help students motivate in writing ability. } }
