By Mood structure of clause we would be describing how language is used to enable the expression of interpersonal meanings, through dialog.In exploring the meaning, Interpersonal meaning (mood) is key of it. By exploring the interpersonal meaning we can find out the speakers purpose and usually it called speech function. The objectives of this research are to find out the mood types and speech functions realized by clause moods in the dialog by the main character “Woody” in Toy Story 3 movie script byJohn Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, LeeUnkrich. This research belongs to descriptive qualitative. The data of this research is the mood types and speech functions realized by clause moods that are taken from the script of Toy Story 3 movie script written bybyJohn Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Lee Unkrichas the data source. The results of this research are; firstly, there are 212moodin the Woody’s dialog, and they are in different forms. Theyconsist of 97 (45,7%) declaratives mood, 9 (4,2%) polar interrogatives mood, 15 (7,0%) WH-interrogatives mood, 24(11,3%) imperatives mood, 67 (3162%) Elliptical clauses mood, and I did not find Exclamative mood and tagged declarative mood. Secondly, there are 9 kinds speech function realized by mood, they are: 77 statement, 32 question,37 command, 21 answer,16 acknowledgment,25 contradiction, 2 disclaimer, 1 rejection,1 Complianceand I didn’t find Offer, Acceptance and Refusal. Based on the result of the research, I suggest the teacherscan use this research as an example when they teach about Grammar and Functional Grammar, especially in teaching about mood type and speech function realized by mood. The students can learn more about the mood type and speech Function through my research. It is also suggested that the further researcher should continue and develop this research with the analysis of the speech function bythe other character in this movie script, because this research only talks about mood and speech function realized by clause mood in the dialog used by the main character. } }
