		abstract={The mass media is a means to meet the information needs of the community. Column readers or the public voice is a special column provided for inspiring opinions, suggestions, criticisms, problems of government, public
service or anything that relates to everyday life. The purpose of this study is to analyze the contents of the voice ruprik reader on Java Post newspaper edition of
August to October 2013. 
The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method. The theme categorization used in this study is the complaint, response, crime, an apology, a thank you and information. The population in this study is the sound of readers on the theme column Jawa Pos newspaper in August 2013 to October 2013, amounting to 299 voice reader. The analysis technique used is the
frequency distribution. 
Based on the research results can be In keseluruan of months from August to October, 2013, the type category news theme is the most frequency category of complaint. All the items have a valid reader writes rubric. In addition, all news items read writing rubric reliability.
