		abstract={Photo journalism, as one part of mass media, are able to explain news virtually. In addition to  
its   function on news necessity, photojournalism have its own news message that needs to be 
passed visually. This research is focused on how to read a published photo in a newspaper, read 
the meaning of a photo in a newspaper.  
This research is using Roland Barthez?s semiotic analysis that is useful in meanings 
analysis of news picture on newspaper. Analysis is held qualitatively with denotation and 
connotation  analysis unit that contained in the object in photos or captions form on newspaper }
