		abstract={The purpose of this study to determine how the veil can establish the
identity of Communication Studies student Veterans National Development
University of East Java. With observations that were once a lot of students who do
not wear hijab and each year has increased wear hijab. This study uses qualitative
descriptive method, the data in this study were obtained through interview
techniques In-depth interviews of informants who met the criteria and search data
from a variety of articles, books and the internet. This study uses the theory of
symbolic interactionism. A symbol is an object in social interaction. It is used as a
representation and communication defined by the people who use it, the urge in
humans arising from identity formed.
The conclusion of this study is the hijab can establish the identity of
Communication Studies student Veterans National Development University of
East Java to be much better than before not wear hijab.
