The research concerned social class and discrimination that happened within society in the short story. The theory of the research is Marxism theory by Karl Marx. According to the issues that short story brought, the research uses Marxism as the basic theory which related to the social class. The writer uses qualitative descriptive analysis as the method to analyze both classes in the short story and the class discrimination that portrayed in the film. In this study the writer found the discrimination endured by the Kelvey?s family. The research finding shows there are two social classes. It is proletariat and Bourgeoisie. Burnells family belongs to bourgeoisie and Kelveys family belongs to proletariat. Each family represents each class. Burnells family is illustrated life with high standard lifestyle and Kelveys family has to fill their daily need with a limited source. Moreover, in the short story the ownership of ?doll house? leads to social class and discrimination in this literary work. The role of ?doll?s house? in this story is so crucial. For further research, the writer suggests that to learn more about class consciousness in capitalist society in literary work.} }
