The standard ESR examination method is the Westergreen method using sodium citrate 3.8% blood as an anticoagulant and diluent. But in many clinical laboratories using K2EDTA blood without dilution so that it can affect the solubility and morphology of erythrocyte cells. So this research needs to be done with the aim to determine the difference in the value of ESR in K2EDTA blood with sodium citrate 3.8% blood Westergreen method. This research was conducted analytically experimental with a total sampling technique of 29 respondents. The results of the study found that there were significant differences in the K2EDTA blood without dilution and sodium citrate 3.8% blood samples with p = 0.001. The difference in ESR values can be caused by differences in the pH and shape of the two anticoagulants and the role of diluents in the examination of ESR.} }
