TERHADAP BAKTERI Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)}, year={2021}, url={http://librepo.stikesnas.ac.id/780/}, abstract={Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of the resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics such as methicillin, penicillin, cotrimoxazole, rifampin, chloramphenicol and gentamicin. MRSA resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics is due to changes in penicillin-binding protein 2a (PBP2a). Based on this information, it is necessary to find alternative medicine by utilizing active compounds in plants, namely beet leaves. Beet leaves were extracted using the maceration method with 96% ethanol, then the extract was fractionated using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water as solvents. The resulting extracts and fractions were then tested for antibacterial using the disc diffusion method with concentrations of 1000ppm, 500ppm, 250ppm, 125ppm, and 62.5ppm against MRSA bacteria. The diameter of the inhibition zone obtained was then analyzed descriptively with CLSI 2020. Ethanol extract and ethyl acetate fraction had antibacterial activity at concentrations of 1000ppm, 500ppm, 250ppm, 125ppm, and 62.5ppm with an average range of inhibition zone 15.06 mm-7.26 mm. The water fraction had antibacterial activity at concentrations of 1000ppm, 500ppm, 250ppm, and 125 ppm with an average inhibition zone of 11.40 mm-6.90 mm, while at a concentration of 62.5 ppm it did not show any antibacterial activity. N-hexane fraction did not show any antibacterial activity, The results of the comparison with the positive control, namely ciprofloxacin according to the CLSI, between the extract and the fraction of beetroot leaf extract had an activity that was not equivalent to the positive control ciprofoxacin which has a zone inhibition 17,4 mm.} }
