Delaying painting after fixation is not a good thing to do due to evaporation so that it can change the concentration which can cause imperfect fixation. The erythrocyte membrane is semi permeable which means it can be penetrated by water and certain substances. If the erythrocytes are in a hypertonic environment, osmotic pressure will occur from inside the cell out of the cell which will cause the cell to crenate. This type of research is descriptive research with an experimental approach. The research sample was taken from level 3 students of D-III National Medical Laboratory Technology STIKES, the number of samples in this study was 9 samples with quota sampling technique using the Frederer formula. Examination data is processed using Microsoft Excel. The results of the study on the length of delay in painting after fixation without delay showed that 8 samples (88.8%) did not have crenation and 1 sample (11.1%) found crenation, at a delay of 30 minutes found 0 samples (0%) did not experience crenation and found 9 samples (100%) underwent crenation, and at a delay of 1 hour found 0 samples (0%) did not experience crenation and 9 samples (100%) experienced drastic changes in crenation. It can be concluded that there is an effect on the delay in staining performed after vixation on the morphology of crenate erythrocytes in the peripheral blood.} }
