One of the substances the proper colour for textiles and leather are used for coloring foodstuffs are Rhodamin b. The incidence of abuse of Rhodamin B among other things caused by society's ignorance about the coloring agent for foods and in addition to the price for industrial dyes are relatively much cheaper compared with prices of pigments for food. This research aims to know the relationship of the level of knowledge of the seller against the use of ice syrup mix the dyes on the market Martapura March 2013. This research is a Survey with analytic, cross-sectional approach. The population in this study are 35 ice syrup a vending mix market selling in martapura Of 35 samples of ice syrup mix are examined, the results obtained 8%) positive samples (22,85 contain Rhodamin B, whereas 27 samples (77,15%) were negative or not containing Rhodamin b. From the results of questionnaires in the seller's percentage of syrup ice mix who has a good level of knowledge category of as many as 12 people (34%), while the level of knowledge categories less as many as 23 people (66%). From the test results using the statistical test of Chi-square significance value obtained of 0,032 < (0.05) which means that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of the seller against the use of ice syrup mix Rhodamin b. Therefore, the need for oversight and guidance from relevant agencies against sellers of ice syrup mix or a small industry so as not to use food additives that are prohibited its use, especially the dye into the food and drink they sell.
