So, the quality of vegetable is very influential on its sale. It causes misapplication towards preservative becoming more often in pickling that food?s material. Based on RI No. 033 year 2012 about food?s material that prohibited to use is formalin. This research purposed to know the image of formalin in the import vegetable in Banjarbaru traditional market. This research using purposive sampling with qualitative method test with reagen KIT formalin ET. Reagen?s tenet KIT makes the compound complex with the purple color. Based on the result of qualitative test from 16 sample of import vegetable has tested bringing 4 between that contains formalin from vegetable and 12 between was not contain formalin. The result got presentation import vegetable that contain 25% formalin and the import vegetable that doesn?t contain the formalin is 75%. In this matter, the instance suggested monitoring food?s material and for the seller and the society to make them more carefully to choose or to buy import vegetable that sell in the traditional market.
