		abstract={This research discusses Unit Shift in the Subtitle of ?Glass? Movie. Catford (1978) divides the shift in translation into two major types, level/rank shift and category shift. Level/rank shift refers to a source language item at one linguistic level that has a target language translation equivalent at a different level. In other words, it is simply a shift from grammar to lexis. The writer focuses on category shift, The category shift is divided into four. they are structure shift, class shift, unit shift and intra system shift (Catford, 1965: 76). Then, the writer would like to focus more on the unit shift. Unit shift as a change of rank may happen from word to phrase, phrase to word or phrase to clause. The researcher used the Subtitle in ?Glass? Movie to find out the unit shift as a change of rank in the subtitle. Based on the statement above, the writer conducted research entitled ?The Analysis of Translation Unit Shift in The Subtitle of Glass Movie?. The goals in this study are to find the unit shift in the subtitle and find the most dominant change of rank in the subtitle. This research uses qualitative method. The results of the research discussion show that there are morpheme to word, word to phrase, phrase to word, phrase to clause, clause to word, clause to phrase and sentence to clause. The results of the research show that the subtitle has 35 or 55.5% for Word to Phrase, and 15 or 23.8% from Phrase to Word. In addition, the research findings also show that the subtitle has six or 9.5% from Phrase to Clause and 3 or 4.8%, from clause to phrase is 2 or 3.2% And the other amount is 1 or 1.6%. Hence, the unit shift of translation from word to phrase in the subtitle of ?Glass? movie is the most dominant type of the unit shift.
