The type of this research was collaborative classroom action research (CAR). There were two instrument used to collect the data, test and observation checklist. The subject of this research was science six (6) eleventh grade student of SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungpinang consist of 25 students. The researcher started with pre-cycle by giving the students pre-test to know students? knowledge about language features of explanation text. The mean score in pre-test was 64.8 and only 28% students that passed the criteria. After finished with pre-cycle, the researcher continued to apply CAR started with cycle one. In cycle one, the researcher taught the student about language features in explanation by using PowerPoint. After that, researcher gave the post-test one to know students improvement. The mean score of students? post-test one was 79.6 and 80% students had passed criteria. There was huge improvement in cycle one but still researcher must continue to cycle two because researcher?s target of improvement was 90%. In cycle two, the researcher did the same like c ycle one and the students? mean score was 83.2 and 92% students passed the criteria in percentages. The researcher realized that students? improvement had achieved researcher?s target of improvement so it can be concluded that PowerPoint was succeed to improve students? understanding of language features of explanation text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungpinang.} }
