		abstract={Birth waiting home is a building nearby health facility used as a temporary home stay for expectant mothers and their husbands. It gives them shorter access to the health facility, prevents delayed treatment, especially in a remote area, and reduces mother?s mortality rate. Aceh Timur Regency is a regency in Aceh Province with high mothers mortality rate and there are cases in which mothers pass away due to put off treatment caused by a geographical factor, but the utilization of the birth waiting home is still low . The objective of the research was to discover the factors which influence the utilization of birth waiting home by expectant mothers at health centre Aceh Timur Regency, in 2018.
This is an explanatory survey research with a cross sectional approach. The population wass all expectant mothers in health service facility in the working area of health centre Aceh Timur Regency which had a birth waiting home, from January until Desember, 2017totalin 4.962. There were 130 persons taken as the samples. The data were analyzed by using Chi-square and multiple logistic regression terts at confidence intervals 95%.
The results of the research demonstrated that perception of a pregnancy conditions with complaint (56.9%), lack of partner?s support (husband/family) (61.5%), moderate attitude toward birth waiting home (47.7%), access that was difficult to reach (78.5%), and poor socialization of birth waiting home (56.9%). The results of Chi-square test analysis showed that perception of pregnancy condition (p=0.0001), partner?s support (husband/family) (p=0.0001), accessability (p=0,004), and socialization of birth waiting home (p=0.0001) had significant influence on the utilization of the birth waiting home by the mothers in labor. The results of multiple logistic regression test analyses showed that partner?s support (husband/family) was the most dominant factor correlated with the utilization of the birth waiting home by the expectant mothers at health centre Aceh Timur Regency in 2018.
In conclusion, pregnant mothers who have a pregnancy condition perception with complaints, good partner?s support (husband/family), difficult access to health facility, and good socialization of birth waiting home will utilization the birth waiting home. It is expected that the Health Agency of Aceh Timur Regency optimize information dissemination and approach to the expectant mothers and their families.}
