Recycled paper can be made with a mixture of cellulose and hemicellulose from plants. This study aims to obtain the best composition of the composition of materials in recycled paper making by using waste paper and some types of agricultural waste fiber (rice straw, banana leaves, and oil palm leaves). This study was conducted in August until November 2017 at Agricultural Engineering Laboratory Biosystem of Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and paper test was conducted at Laboratorium Center For Pulp and Paper, Bandung, using a complete non-factorial randomized design. Percentage of composition ratio of mixture of agricultural waste fiber (rice straw, banana frond, and oil palm leaves) and waste paper (0%: 100%; 25%: 75%; 50%: 50%; 75%: 25%; 0%: 100%). Parameters observed were tear resistance, tensile strength, stiffness, roughness, and water absorption. The results showed that the composition of paper waste effected significantly on tear resistance, dance resistance, stiffness, roughness and water absorption. The best paper is obtained on a percentage of 50% paper pulp composition and 50% mixture of agricultural waste fiber with a tear resistance value of 0.72 Nm2/kg, tensile strength 2.28 kN/m, paper stiffness 663.00 gf.cm, roughness 2,400 mL /minute and water absorption 608.0 g/m2.} }
