		abstract={Information technology and communications networks is currently growing very rapidly andthe more advanced. Information technology formerly known as computer technology andother electronic devices, was transformed into one in the fusion ability. Computers can beused to move large amounts of information, take a very short distance in the network(network) that has been connected to the Internet. Various information can be obtained on the internet and anybody can access that information. Along with the development of information technology, the Internet not only provides a positive contribution to life but alsothreats. Internet is one form of information technology has been widely used by government agencies, schools and corporations. Unlimited use of which may result in adverse effects, especially for schools, which should be used as a medium of learning is often misused to open sites porn sites and sites that could interfere with the learning process, so the networkmust be a filter that can serve to deny access to certain websites at any given time. In this event there are problems, namely how to install and configure the pfSense on your PC as a router and firewall, how to configure squid proxy, and firewall performance on the network.The purpose of this activity is to use pfSense as pc router, configure firewalls on your pc andfind out pfSense router configuration using a squid proxy and filter Internet access. In makingthis thesis, the author uses the methods of literary study, methods of analysis andexperimental methods. Firewall architecture that is made from the system routing, proxy using squid proxy server and web filter, so it can protect the network in SMP Negeri8 Cilacap.
