Telkom Vocational School is one of the schools that utilize WiFi (Wireless Fidelity) network for learning and teaching. However, there are still users in Telkom Vocational School who get poor signal strength, where the number of existing APs is 9 AP users who obtain an average Relative Signal Level (RSL) value. ) of 55.59 dBm and minimum RSL value from the range of -66 dBm to -146 dBm as much as 25% of users, where the RSL value is so bad that it is necessary to estimate the access point placement in the research building. This study calculates coverage and capacity to obtain the number of APs. Based on the calculation of the number of APs obtained by 28 based on coverage and 25 AP based on capacity. From the number of APs obtained, it was simulated using RPSv5.4 software with 2.4 GHz frequency and COST 231 Multiwall propagation model. The optimal number of APs and AP placements is a comparison of 4 AP placement scenarios by looking at the results of RSL and SIR. From the results of the best RSL and SIR in the simulation of the estimated number of AP 28 and 25 AP with the position of AP placed zig zag obtained RSL results of -35.50 dBm and SIR of 6.06 dB (coverage) and the RSL result of -36.05 dBm and SIR 7.04 dB (capacity).
