		abstract={This research aims to find the urban fantasy elements in novel the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. This novel tells about a girl that discover her new life which full of fantasy and the story was taken place in real world with urban environment. The writer uses genre study as the approach and Todorov?s Narrative Structure as the theory.
 In this research the writer applies descriptive qualitative method in which tries to explain about the elements of urban fantasy inside the novel and deals with descriptive way to analyze the data. The writer also conducted library research in the context of data collecting process. The data came from dialogues and narrations about urban fantasy elements in novel the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
This research reveals about the elements of urban fantasy seen inside this novel. The research finds three elements of urban fantasy in the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, they are setting in real world, strong female protagonist, and supernatural human such as vampires, werewolves, warlock and demon. These results include in the data analysis through 5 stages of Todorov?s narrative structure theory which are Equilibrium, Disruption, Recognition, Repair the Damage, and Equilibrium Again.}
