Dialogues in a film, delivered by the characters, may carry explicit or implicit meanings. Generally, a film seeks to communicate various messages to viewers through its characters. This research aims to identify the signs, objects, and interpretants within the film Midsommar using Charles S. Pierce?s semiotic theory. Furthermore, it seeks to identify how these signs, objects, and interpretants depict violence in Midsommar, a horror film by Ari Aster released in 2019. The qualitative descriptive research is supported by Johan Galtung?s violence theory. Findings reveal 10 data points classified within the part of triangle meaning, supporting violence representation in Midsommar. Signs are indicated through the appearance of 6 sinsigns and 4 qualisigns. Objects are represented by 14 indexes, while interpretants are identified in 4 arguments and 6 decent sign, resulting in two forms of violence representation: physical and psycological violence. In Midsommar, signs, objects, and interpretants collectively represent these two types of violence.} }
