		abstract={Adolescence will be faced with a phase that is the phase of looking for identity. In the process of development and the period of looking for the identity of female adolescent need help and the role of fathers. The role of father in forming this self concept requires because female adolescent whose fathers are involved in parenting will have good self-concepts and high self-confidence. This study intends to determine the effect of perceptions about the role of fathers on self-concept of female adolescent. The subjects in this study are 261 students of SMA N 8 Pekanbaru. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study is the scale of self-concept and scale of perception about the role of fathers. Based on the results of statistical analysis using simple linear regression analysis obtained a regression coefficient 58.860 with a value of p = 0,000 (p <0.05). It can be concluded that there is a significant positive effect between perceptions about the role of fathers on self-concept.}
