		abstract={Research area located in Sarilamak, Subdistrict Harau, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra on 0°9'12.13" - 0°9'28.32" Lattitude and 100°39'34.89" - 100°39'51.08" Longitude. This research is motivated by wanting to add to the literature on the depositional environment and sandstone petrogenesis in the Sarilamak area. The purpose of this final project is to find out how the depositional environment and sandstone petrogenesis in the river sediment in the Sarilamak area and how the relationship between the two. The method used is granulometric analysis and petrogenesis analysis and depositional environmental facies analysis. Based on the calculation of granulometric analysis of river sediment sandstones in the study area, it is dominated by Fine Sandstones to Coarse Sandstones with a grain size range of 0.149mm - 0.6mm, which shows that the sediment has undergone a deposition process. Based on the Q-F-RF diagram, the river sediment sandstones in the study area have the names Sublitharenite and Arkose. And the depositional environment in this research area is Channel Deposits and Overbank Deposits.}
