The elements contained in dance are motion, floor design, makeup, costumes, music, dynamics, themes, lighting, and property. This development is based on the creativity of a choreographer who made changes in the development of the Zapin Bengkalis Tradition dance to Zapin Meranti, but did not change the traditional form. The purpose of the development of the Zapin Bengkalis dance tradition to Zapin Meranti is to revive cultural values among the community, implement Malay customs as the identity of an area, especially in the field of dance, and as entertainment.
