		abstract={This study aims to determine the role and obstacles of the Riau Province Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) in Preserving the Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve. The type of research used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Sources of research data come from interviews with predetermined informants, field observations, and documentation of research activities. All data collected were analyzed systematically according to the method used and discussed scientifically, then conclusions were drawn. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the role of the Riau BBKSDA had been realized maximally in the preservation of the Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve area. This result can be seen from the indicators of guarding that have been carried out in the form of establishing guard posts, area patrols, area data collection, and educating communities around forest areas. Protective indicators are implemented by making policies, enforcing the law, and controlling the area. Meanwhile, development indicators have been implemented to establish communication with the community, coordinate, and establish cooperation in exploring the potential of existing resources in forest areas. The BKSDA obstacle in preserving the Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling SM is that the number of posts/resorts is not balanced with such a large area, and limited infrastructure such as motorbikes and motorboats for patrolling. The number of officers at each resort or guard post is 3 people. Joint or joint patrols with other law enforcers are carried out if there are reports or findings in the field. Then the funding allocated for the preservation of the SM area is very limited in number and public awareness and participation.}
