Student's Perception Towards Learning English Using WhatsApp Application in English Department Seventh Semester at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong. This research aimed to finding out The students? perceptions on using WhatsApp Application for learning at English Department in Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong. This research was a descriptive study using a qualitative approach witth the data collection technique using an interview. The participants of the study were ten students of English Education Department especially for seventh semester. The result of this research were All informants have the same perception that WhatsApp was a communication tool, but WhatsApp was not effective in improving learning on campus, because sometimes there was network disruption, difficult to understand the material provided because it cannot meet face to face, WhatsApp was less effective because not all students understand learning virtually and not all students have handphones and quotas data, and WhatsApp cannot videocall more than 5 people. Informants give suggestion that prefer Google Clasroom for learning media than WhatsApp. However, the WhatsApp's advantage are : All informants said that WhatsApp was easier in terms of make powerpoint and collecting assignments because it was more practical and easier.
