		abstract={Stres produces various responses, including physiological, cognitive, emotional, and behavioural responses. When stressed, the hormone drenaline will increase blood pressure through arterial contraction (vasoconstriction) and inscreases heart rate. This research aimed to determine the relationship between stress and the incidence of hypertension in the elderly in Mongolato Village, Telaga District, Gorontalo Regency. This study uses a quantitave research design with a cross-sectional method. The population was 73 hypertensive older people the Slovin formula determined the sample of 42 people through simple random sampling. The research instrument used the Dsss 42 questionnaire, stethoscapo, and observation sheet. The results showed the majority,namely 16 people (38.1%), had a moderate stress level, with 13 with moderate blood pressure, 1 with mild, and two with normal blood pressure. The results of the Chi-Square test analysis obtained a P value = 0.000 < 0.05, which means that there is a relationship between stress and the incidence of hypertension in the elderly in Mongolato Village, Telaga District, Gorontalo Regency.
