		abstract={Weight gain during pregnancy that is less than usual can increase the risk of babies with low birth weight (LBW), while excessive weight gain can increase the risk of babies with high birth weight or macrosomia. This study aimed to determine the relationship between maternal weight gain during pregnancy and the baby?s birth weight. The research design uses quantitative research methods with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling used a simple random sampling method so that 56 respondents were obtained. Observation sheet data collection and data analysis used the chi-square test with a significant degree of ? 5% (p <0.05). The chi-square analysis with a p-value = 0.026 showed a relationship between maternal weight gain during pregnancy and the baby?s birth weight. It can be concluded that most pregnant women at RSIA Sitti Khadijah experience average weight gain by giving birth to most babies with normal weight. It is hoped that mothers can evaluate nutrition before pregnancy and during pregnancy to gain average weight during pregnancy.}
