The purpose of this research is to identify the types of illocutionary acts used by Jenna Ortega and to describe the functions of illocutionary acts used by Jenna Ortega in some of her interviews. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data sources used are some of video interviews by Jenna Ortega which were conducted in 2022 which were taken from YouTube. This study uses the theory by Searle (1979) to determine the types of illocutionary acts used in several of Jenna Ortega's interviews, the second uses theory by Yule (1996) to determine the functions of illocutionary acts used in several of Jenna Ortega's interviews. researchers also used the theory by Spradley (1980) as a data analysis technique. The instrument is the researcher herself who collect, identified, and described the data. The results of this study show that there are three types of illocutionary acts used in some of Jenna Ortega's interviews that are assertives that have function of statement 80 data (76.19%), assertion 3 data (2.86%), conclussion 2 data (1.90%), and description 6 data (5.71%). Commisives that have function of promises 2 data (1.90%). Expressives that have function of pleasure 4 data (3.81%), likes 3 data (2.86%), dislikes 1 data (0.95%), joy 3 data (2,86%), and sorrow 1 data (0.95%). The results of this study, the researcher can conclude that Jenna Ortega provides very clear information to provide an understanding of the interlocutors. Her statement to provide high truth to the interviewer, this is related to her journey before she became an actress, therefore assertives type that has function of a statement of fact is often used in some of her interviews. She made her statement seem clear so as to give the impression of looking friendly to the interlocutors.} }
