Unaccounted for bending can increase the temperature of the cable, potentially causing the insulation to burn and the conductor wire to melt. By using a 2x1.5mm² NYM cable and carrying an electric current of between 1 and 5A, this research varied the bending angle of the cable at 135°, 90°, 45° and reverse bending. Test results using meter pliers, thermometers, and several electronic equipment as loads, show that bending at an obtuse angle can reduce the temperature significantly, thereby preventing damage to the insulation and melting of the conductor wire. On the other hand, a sharp bending angle (300°) causes a drastic temperature increase which increases the risk of cable damage. Keywords: Cable Bending, Temperature, Insulation, Current.} }
