This research was conducted in Jabon village, using qualitative research methods with the technique of determining informants through purposive techniques which were then studied using the social action theory proposed by Max Weber, the social welfare theory proposed by James Midgley and the Local Strongman theory proposed by Joel S. Midgal. The informants in this research consisted of village residents, village officials, and also Jabon village community leaders. The results of this research found that the factors for the emergence of a single candidate were (1) Political games carried out by the previous village head, (2) The potential to form a political dynasty, (3) Obstacles placed on other candidates, and (4) The size of the plot of land held. small, (5) the strength of the local village strongman. Meanwhile, in the second point regarding the recapitulation results, the single candidate managed to win the contest with 1,654 votes or 81.32 percent. The emergence of a single candidate has had both negative and positive impacts in the village of Jabon. The positive impact caused by the presence of this single candidate is an increase in social welfare programs, the running of the elderly posyandu program, the running of the posyandu park program, the emergence of a program for making liquid fertilizer (in the agricultural sector), and the development of infrastructure. Meanwhile, the negative impact is the lack of coordination of activities between the BPD and the Jabon village leadership, village institutions and organizations are not running well, they are only used as a formality, the potential of the village and BUMDes is not being channeled properly due to the lack of firm leadership.
