Miftahul Djanah, M.Pd.I, (II) Dr. Ely Roy Madoni, M.Pd., Kons. Keywords: Academic anxiety, Rational emotive Behavior counseling Anxiety often occurs in early adolescence because of immature thought patterns and the pressure that always comes, this is the implementation of a lack of understanding about trust from an early age. At this stage of development during adolescence, environmental and family factors have a very big influence. Researchers used a Rational Emotive Behavior Counseling approach using role playing techniques. The research design used was Pretest Posttest Control Group Design with the true experimental design method. which was then analyzed using the t-test. The population in this study was 38 students of SMPN 2 Klampis class VII. Rational Emotive Behavior Counseling is an approach that emphasizes change patterns and individual belief patterns by adding behavioral aspects to the theoretical framework of an approach that can change students' irrational thinking patterns into rational thinking patterns. In this study, researchers used a questionnaire instrument with 50 questions whose validity was tested on 18 respondents. From the results of the reliability test calculations, it is said to be reliable because the Cronbach Allpha value is greater than the r table, namely 0.972. In the normality test it is said to be normal because the significance value is > 0.05. In the homogeneity test, it was obtained 0.477>0.05 and each of the test results of the experimental group and the control group has a significance value of 0.002 <0.05, which means there is a significant difference between before and after the intervention.} }
