The purpose of this study is to determine the value of the coefficient of friction based on the manning roughness value (n) in an open channel that is affected by sedimentation and to determine the difference in the manning roughness value (n) when the channel conditions are normal and when the channel is sedimented. The research was conducted by measuring the flow velocity using a current meter with the method of measuring 4 points when the channel was normal and 4 points per sedimentation thickness of 2 cm, 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm. The method to be implemented is in the form of direct data collection using a trapezoid-shaped channel prototype. From the results of research with measurement points, the values ??of V and n are obtained, for normal channels V = 0.48006 and the value of the Manning roughness coefficient n = 0.0235. For a sedimented channel, the values ??of V and n are obtained as follows, a sedimented channel with a thickness of 2 cm has a velocity of V = 0.39624 and the value of the manning roughness coefficient is n = 0.0283, a sedimented channel with a thickness of 3 cm has a velocity of V = 0.33528 and the coefficient of manning roughness is n = 0.0338, a sedimented channel with a thickness of 4 cm has a velocity of V = 0.27432 and the value of the coefficient of manning roughness is n = 0.0416, a sedimented channel with a thickness of 5 cm has a velocity of V = 0.23622 and the value of the Manning roughness coefficient is n = 0.0489.
