Muhammad Samsul Huda: The Effect of Using Problem Solving Methods on Critical Thinking Skills for Fiqh Subjects at MAN 6 Jombang, Department of Islamic Education, Faculty of Islamic Religion, Darul 'Ulum University Jombang, 2022.
This research is based on the phenomenon that in learning students not only read and memorize theories, but students must think critically when understanding a problem in learning. Therefore, the researchers wanted to find out more about the effect of using problem solving methods on the critical thinking skills of students in fiqh subjects at MAN 6 Jombang.
In this study, the test method and the documentation method were used. The test was used to obtain data about the critical thinking skills of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 6 Jombang students. Meanwhile, documentation is used to collect data about the population, samples, and madrasa documents.
The results showed that: (1) The students' critical thinking skills in fiqh subjects were in the low, medium, and high categories. In the experimental class, students' critical thinking skills at the low level were 2 students, at the medium level there were 25 students, at the high level there were 6 students. Meanwhile, in the control class, students' critical thinking skills at the low level are 2 students, at the medium level there are 32 students, and at the high level there are 1 student. (2) There is a significant effect between the use of problem solving methods on the critical thinking skills of students in fiqh subjects at MAN 6 Jombang which is indicated by the value of sig. (2-tailed) = 0.001 > 0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. (3) The magnitude of the effect is obtained d = 2.44 based on the interpretation table of Cohen's value, the percentage is 97.7%. Based on the results of the study, the use of problem solving methods had a major influence on the critical thinking skills of students in fiqh subjects at MAN 6 Jombang, namely 97.7%.
