Understanding communication is a negative reaction in the form of anxiety experienced by a person in his communication experience, both anxiety in public speaking and anxiety in interpersonal communication. Systematic desensitization techniques with the help of murottal Al-Qur'an can help minimize the anxiety level of students in communicating in public. The purpose of this study is to determine how effective and effective the systematic desensitization technique with the help of murottal is in reducing the understanding of communication experienced by students.
The research design used in this study was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. In this research design there are two groups, then given a pretest to determine the difference in initial conditions between the experimental group and the control group and then analyzed using the Independent Sample T-Test test. The subjects in this study were students from class VIII A to class VIII D at SMP Negeri 2 Peterongan and 10 students were taken, all of which were in the high and medium level categories. Sampling using purposive sampling technique, namely taking samples by taking into account certain criteria, 10 students who met the criteria were divided into two groups, namely 5 students in the experimental group and 5 students in the control group.
Based on the results of data analysis using the Independent-Sample T-Test above and based on the decision-making basis for the Independent Sample T-Test, it is known that the value of Sig (2-tailed) in the equal variances assumed or experimental group is 0.334 > 0.05 and Sig. (2-tailed) in the equal variances not assumed or the control group is 0.346 > 0.05. It is concluded that the results of the hypothesis of the decision of the Independent Sample T-Test test are H0 accepted and Ha rejected, which means that there is a difference in the average results of the 2 groups. And the final result of the research hypothesis is that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which reads that the systematic desensitization technique research with the help of murottal Al-Qur'an is effective in reducing communication comprehension.}
