@thesis{thesis, author={Baron Hermanto}, title ={THE EFFECT OF GRAIN SIZE AND COMPOSITION OF BRASS POWDER AS ADDITIONAL REINFORCEMENT IN IRONWOOD POWDER BRAKE PADS ON ITS HARDNESS}, year={2023}, url={http://repository.undar.ac.id/id/eprint/314/}, abstract={Vehicles are a means of transporting people and goods, so we must also be able to meet the needs for repairs and additions to certain parts of the vehicle, one of the most important and frequently replaced parts is the brakes. In principle, the brake system uses the conversion of motion energy into heat through friction force obtained from the brake lining and disc. This research aims to determine the effect of grain size, grain size composition, and the interaction between grain size and composition on the level of hardness of non-asbestos brake linings, made from brass powder and ironwood powder as reinforcement, the results of which will be listed on the shore D scale. In this study The materials I use include brass powder, ironwood powder, teak wood carbon, calcium carbonate, barium sulfate, phenolic resin, and catalyst. Hardness testing on non-asbestos brake linings uses the ASTM D2240-Durometer standard method. Keywords: Brake Pads, Ironwood Powder, Brass Powder, Hardness, Durometer} }
