The data were collected from English textbook and interviewed the native speakers of Kaidipang language who lives in Kaidipang sub district. The findings were analyzed using contrastive analysis approach with the procedures: describing, selecting, contrasting, and predicting. It was found that English has suffixes -ed and -d as the past form markers, and Kaidipang language has prefixes no-, nosipo-, noko-, noho-, noti-, noki-, nogi-, and infix -inum-. The result of this study shows that English and Kaidipang have several similarities and differences in morphology. The similarities are both languages experience morphophonemic process, and the past verbs are marked by affixes. Meanwhile, the two languages are different in the kinds of affixation, meanings, and word classes that can be attached by the affixes. The similarities help students, especially those who are from Kaidipang to learn English easier, while the differences may cause difficulties. Recognizing the similarities and differences between their source and target language enables students to avoid error that may occur.
