The purpose of this study was to find out the views of Muhammad Quraish Shihab about the values of Islamic education based on local wisdom in the interpretation of Al-Misbah. The problem of local wisdom degradation is not an easy thing to overcome, especially if it only relies on educational institutions. Referring to the rapid pace of development of globalization of information technology in society, local wisdom has begun to shift. Where the community, especially the millennial generation, is not familiar with their own culture and 
results in the erosion of the original culture.
Based on these problems, it is very clear how crucial Islamic education is based on local wisdom. Quraish Shihab is a character who has more authoritativeness, especially among Nusantara commentators who in his works represent moderate schools, the main reference for contemporary interpretations, especially in Indonesia, the credibility of scholarship in the field of interpretation 
is unquestionable. This study uses library research and focuses on examining the values of Islamic education based on local wisdom according to Quraish Shihab contained in his interpretation of al-Misbah. The analysis technique used is content analysis.
The findings of this study are the values of Islamic education based on local wisdom according to Quraish Shihab in the interpretation of al-Misbah, namely polite behavior, amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, respect, cultural, tolerance, religious, moderation, and nationalism.
