The cloud computing services that can be used as Infrastructure as a Service Services include Xenserver Because the data stored on Xenserver is getting bigger, there is a need for additional storage. Network Attached Storage (NAS) is a cloud storage media system or network storage that can be applied as additional storage media on Xenserver. Xenserver requires a protocol to be able to access block level from NAS storage media, there are two protocols that can be used, namely the Network File System (NFS) protocol and the Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) protocol (Chandra, et al. 2019). Of the two protocols, it is not known which one has better performance as a connecting protocol between xenserver and freeNAS. Based on these problems, the researcher wishes to conduct research on comparative analysis of the performance of the NFS and ISCSI protocols on FreeNAS storage that is integrated with XenServer. The parameters that will be analyzed include the speed of reading data (read speed) and speed of writing/copying data (writing speed) when a virtual machine (VM) creation scenario is carried out, backups, and uploads the operating system from FreeNAS to Xenserver. This research is expected to provide benefits in the form of information and knowledge related to the best performance of the NFS and ISCSI protocols, making it easier for system administrators to determine the protocol that will be used to connect xenserver with Network Attached Storage (NAS).} }
