Language is the ability that humans have to communicate with other humans and language is the most prominent distinguishing feature language between social group feels different. This research was conducted to reveals the diglossic phenomenon in Setiling central lombok using sociolinguistic study. The use of language is as a form of linguistic expression that relates or points to aspects of the social cultural context of society. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, with data collection methods obtained through surveys, interviews, and observations in three area in Setiling Central Lombok, namely; Lingkok Lime, Gunung Borok, and Setiling. This research has found the diglossic of utterance” by noblemen. They should use sasak alus when they are communicating with their family or their same background (noblemen). However, there was found that 67% of the respondents who had a noblemen background used the sasak jamaq. The factors that influence of degeneration are; Economic factors, Education factors, and Knowledge factors.
