		abstract={The main thing in the development of education is the quality of education. One of the determinants of the quality of education is counseling guidance. However, many students feel embarrassed in conducting counseling directly to the BK teacher because they usually consult their peers and cannot solve the problems they face, this makes it difficult for BK teachers to handle student problems. So we need a system that can help and solve the problems experienced by students. The purpose of this study is to design and build an expert system that overcomes the problems suffered by students using the certainty factor method, this expert system can help and provide solutions for students. The methodology in developing this expert system uses the waterfall methodology, this method is linear where this method starts through needs analysis, application design, coding and testing. The result of this research is the creation of an expert system application for Guidance Counseling Students with Problems who apply the certainty factor method. The conclusion of this study is that the expert system application that was built is as expected based on black box testing and the level of use of this application indicates that this application belongs to the acceptable category based on usability testing which was tested with the SUS (System Usability Scale) method which got a score of 76 ,5%..}
