The language used by stand-up comedians in delivering a humour is influenced by their own styles. In stylistic approach, style can be analyzed in figurative language through figure of speech. The purposes of this study are to analyze figure of speech types found in Trevor Noah?s stand-up comedy performances based on Perrine?s theory (1969) and describe their meanings and roles in constructing humour. The data of this study were taken from two selected videos in form of compilation from various stand-up comedy shows peformed by Trevor Noah. The data of figure of speech were collected, the types were classified in data sheet, the meaning and its roles were intrepreted to see the figure of speech style used by Trevor Noah in his stand-up comedy performances. After analyzing data, it was found that figure of speech by comparison such as simile and metaphor were the most common types used by Trevor Noah in delivering his humour materials along with hyperbole. The possible explanation is Trevor Noah tendency to bring up topics that are personal and unfamiliar to some of his audiences like ethnical and political topics because it is easier to be explained in form of comparison. It was also found that the roles of figure of speech inTrevor Noah?s humor construction are helping audience to understand the intended jokes, stimulating their imagination, and adding emotional intensity.} }
