The lecturers? readiness is measured using four components; attitude readiness, motivation readiness, awareness readiness and knowledge readiness. This study is a descriptive survey, carry out using a self?reported questionnaire to measure the level of English lecturers? readiness based on the four components. The questionnaire is distributed to 55 English lecturers at four institutions of higher education in Jambi Indonesia. The major findings show that the English lecturers? readiness toward Internet usage for teaching and learning is at medium level. The findings show that English lecturers are ready at high level to use the Internet for teaching and learning in terms of attitude and motivation readiness. In contrary, the English lecturers are not very ready to use the Internet for teaching and learning in terms of awareness and knowledge readiness. This study also found that there is a significant positive correlation between the lecturers? frequency of Internet usage and the level of lecturers? readiness toward Internet usage. There are significant differences in level of readiness toward Internet usage perceived between English lecturers of public institutions and English lecturers of private institutions. Based on the data found, implications and recommendations of this study are formulated and would be extended to the policy makers of the Directorate of Higher Education in Indonesia.} }
