ABSTRAK
Usahatani padi ladang merupakan suatu usahatani yang tidak terlepas kaitannya dengan penggunaan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi. Untuk dapat mencapai produksi yang tinggi,  maka faktor produksi yang digunakan harus dioptimalkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan (i)untuk mengetahui gambaran umum usahatani padi ladang di Kecamatan Pauh Kabupaten Sarolangun,  (ii) untuk mengestimasi fungsi produksi usahatani padi ladang di Kecamatan Pauh Kabupaten Sarolangun(iii) untuk menganalisis efisiensi ekonomi penggunaan faktor produksi usahatani padi ladang di  Kecamatan Pauh Kabupaten Sarolangun.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 29 Juli sampai 29 Agustus 2016. Fungsi produksi Cobb Douglas digunakan untuk mengestimasi penggunaan faktor produksi lahan, benih, tenaga kerja, pupuk dan pestisida sebagai variabel independent. Efisiensi ekonomi digunakan untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan faktor produksi. Data didapatkan dari 60 responden yang dipilih dengan menggunakan metode acak senderhana (simple random sampling). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua faktor faktor produksi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap produksi padi ladang. Sementara, secara analisis parsial penggunaan faktor produksi luas lahan, benih, dan pupuk urea berpengaruh signifikan terhadap produksi padi ladang, dan setelah itu didapatkan bahwa penggunaan faktor produksi pada masing-masing petani rata-rata belum efisien secara ekonomis.

	ABSTRACT	

	Fieldrice farming is a farming which is inseparable connection with the factors that affect the production. To achieve high production, the factors of production must be used optimally. This study aimed : (I) to describe the field rice farming in Pauh subdistrict, Sarolangun district. (II) to estimate production function of farming rice field in Pauh subdistrict, Sarolangun district. (III) to analyse the economic efficiency of the use of productionfactors in rice field farming in Pauh subdistrict, Sarolangun district. The research was conducted from July 29 until August 29, 2016. Production function of Cobb-Douglas was used to estimate the production with land, seeds, labour, fertilizer and pesticides as independet variables. Economic efficiency was used to evaluate the efficiencyof productionfactor used. The data obtained from 60 respondents who selected randomly using (simple random sampling). The research results showed that all factors of production affect field rice farming significantly. Meanwhile, in partial analysis the use of factors of production of land area, seed and fertilizer affect production significantly . futhermore the use of productionfactors on each farmer on the average had not technically and economically efficient.
