As a conservation area, the upstream area functions as a water catchment area, hydrological protection, microclimate, soil fertility, microbial source, air cycle balance, and carbon storage. Changes in land use change are the first focus of problems in the Ijuk River due to increased community activities encroaching around the outskirts of forest areas that are used as coffee fields and mixed gardens adjacent to the direction of the Ijuk River flow, making it important to have a re-reflection and evaluation of the condition of the quality of the river. In addition to having an important role in the area, bottom insects can also be used as an indicator of river water quality. The evaluation carried out in this study refers to existing plantation activities, and does not refer to domestic activities. This research was conducted from January 2022 to July 2022 at the Isau-Isau Wildlife Refuge, Lawang Agung Village, Kec. Mulak Ulu Kab. Lahat. The process of assessment and assistance of water bottom insect samples was carried out at the Ecology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University. Measurement of physico-chemical parameters and organic materials was carried out at UPT. Environmental Laboratory of the Palembang City Environment and Hygiene Service. This study aims to analyze and compare the structure of the macrozoobenthic community which includes composition, density, diversity index, diversity, dominance and community comfort index in three river flow segments, namely the upstream, middle and downstream streams. The stages of the research carried out were field sampling, observation and identification and data analysis. The conclusion of the research is based on the community structure of bottom water insects, it can be concluded that for the waters of Ijuk River is still relatively good and the evaluation results have decreased.} }
