		abstract={This study aims to detennine the factors that cause the lack of interest of adolescents in syair senjang as one of the regional cultures in Sekayu City, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The research method of the study was quantitative. The population in this study amounted to 606 adolescents. While the study sample used the proportionate stratified random sampling technique with an error rate 5% of the study population, amounting to 235 adolescents. The date collection techniques used are documentation and questionnaires. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded the lack of interest of adolescent in senjang poetry, namely the lack of cognition (recognizing) with percentage 56% of adolescents with the syair senjang because to the to lack of socialization. Futhennore, the lack of emotions (fee lings) with percentage 59% of adolescents with the syair senjang because think it's not entertaining, boring, and using language that is difficult 10 understand. Then, the lack of konasi (will) with percentage 61% of adolescents with the syair senjang because it's considered an which is not following the development of an increasingly modem era.}
