DM is closely related to obesity. Obesity can be known through measurement Body Mass Index (BMI) and Waist Hip Ratio (WHR). In 2018 the prevalence of DM in the city of Prabumulih was ranked second in South Sumatra at 2.02%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between BMI and WHR with fasting blood glucose levels in the elderly in the working area of the Tanjung Rambang Health Center. The research design uses an observational analytic approach cross sectional. The population in this study were pre-elderly (45-59 years) living in the working area of the Tanjung Rambang Health Center with a sample of 190 people using a sampling technique Purposive Sampling and has inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study uses univariate and bivariate data analysis with test Chi-Square and ?=0.05. Most of the respondents had excess nutritional status (66.8%), and the WHR of the respondents was not normal (53.2%) and there were still respondents who had abnormal fasting blood glucose levels (15.3%). The results of the analysis showed that there was no relationship between BMI and fasting blood glucose levels (p=0.633). There is a relationship between WHR and fasting blood glucose levels (p=0.001) PR 4,230 (1,684-10,618). From the results of the study it can be concluded that someone who has more nutritional status will tend to have abnormal blood glucose levels. Respondents who have abnormal WHR are advised to limit food intake that enters the body, for respondents who have abnormal fasting blood glucose levels in order to be able to adjust menus, eating patterns and portions.} }
