DI KAWASAN CAGAR ALAM HUTAN BAKAU PANTAI TIMUR, TANJUNG SOLOK, TANJUNG JABUNG TIMUR, JAMBI}, year={2023}, url={http://repository.unsri.ac.id/104499/}, abstract={Through the length of Batanghari River, there are many community activities, such as fishing, coal-carrying, and industrial activities. These various activities can cause pollution of the aquatic environment, such as pollution of heavy metals Pb and Cu. This pollution can be overcome by using phytoremediation techniques using Avicennia alba Blume. which grows in Mangrove Forest Nature Reserve East Coast (CAHBPT), Jambi. This study aims to determine the ability and mechanism of phytoremediation of heavy metals Pb and Cu by A. alba in CAHBPT, Tanjung Solok, Tanjung Jabung Timur, Jambi. The research was held from November 2022 to January 2023. Sampling was carried out in the CAHBPT, Tanjung Solok, Tanjung Jabung Timur, Jambi using a purposive sampling method. Heavy metal analysis was carried out using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) at the UPTD Laboratorium Lingkungan, DLHP Sumatera Selatan. The Bioconcentration Factor (BCF) aims to determine the ability of A. alba found in the CAHBPT, Tanjung Solok, Tanjung Jabung Timur, Jambi in accumulating heavy metals Pb and Cu from the environment, and the Translocation Factor (TF) aims to determine the mechanism of phytoremediation in A. alba against Pb and Cu metals. The results of this study were found that the accumulation of Pb metal accumulation ranged from 10.08-13.42 mg/kg for sediment, 1.93-2.88 mg/kg for roots, and 2.43-2.76 mg/kg for leaves. The accumulation of Cu metal accumulation ranges from 8.61-22.92 mg/kg for sediment, 2.00-2.45 mg/kg for roots, and 1.75-2.78 mg/kg for leaves. The ability of A. alba in reducing the impact of Pb and Cu metal pollution is classified as an excluder which is marked BCF < 1, although the concentration of heavy metals in sediments is still below the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) quality standards for sediments. A. Alba in the CAHBPT, Tanjung Solok, Tanjung Jabung Timur, Jambi has a Pb metal translocation mechanism in the form of fitoextraction marked by TF> 1 value, and for Cu metal using a fitostabilization mechanism marked by TF <1.
